Broadband retail service provider Aussie Broadband has appointed financial services veteran Brian Maher as its new chief financial officer as it gears up for listing on the ASX next year.

A statement from the company said Maher had 30 years' experience in health insurance, general insurance, industrial services, logistics and mining services.

Aussie Broadband managing director Phil Britt said: "Brian is a great addition to our leadership team. He has a strong financial background, with extensive exposure to all business types including ASX, private equity, private company, professional services, high growth start-ups and not-for-profit.

“This appointment is crucial at a time of rapid growth and ahead of our IPO listing.”

Before this appointment, Maher was CFO at Local Agent Finder, Australia's largest online real estate agent comparison service.
