Managed cloud provider Rackspace has appointed Darryn McCoskery as general manager for Australia and New Zealand.

"We are excited to see Darryn take the reins as the Rackspace business embarks on its next phase of growth across Australia and New Zealand," said managing director international Reinhard Waldinger.

"Darryn's extensive experience in the sector and his strong rapport with local customers is what makes him a true Racker and definitely a leader to watch. We're proud to have him at the helm in the region."

McCoskery joined Rackspace in 2015 as sales director.

He previously worked as APAC regional vice-president at CSC, APAC director at Virt2all Cloud Consulting, senior cloud solutions strategist at CA Technologies, and a senior partner business manager at VMware.

Earlier in his career McCoskery worked in sales and business development roles at BMC Software and Oracle.

He holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in IT.
