The app, finally available on Google Play after being downloadable in Apple's App Store for months, allows users to take a short six second video clips of whatever they want, and post it.
This list of Top 50 Vine videos comes highly recommended if you're entirely new to the service... you'll get the idea pretty quickly.
It now has only taken a few days to climb the charts of Android's app lists, too.
The Vine team is still hard at work, adding the ability to use both front- and rear-facing cameras and working out some kinks with the app. The New York Times has also noted a few days ago that there seem to be more Vine shares on Twitter than Instagram for the first time ever. Vine was founded by Dom Hofmann and Rus Yusupov in June 2012; while the company was acquired by Twitter in October 2012.
