Not everyone needs a mobile printer, but those who do aren't spoiled for choice. So it's good to see another model in this segment.
The Epson WorkForce WF-100 weighs 1.6kg and measures 309x154x61mm, making it the smallest and lightest sub-US$400 mobile colour printer in the world. It actually costs $399 here.
Print speeds of up to 7ppm aren't earth-shattering, but that's not really an issue in this part of the market.
Unlike earlier generations of mobile printers, the WF-100 has a LED display for ease of use.
It also provides "lab-quality" borderless photos that are said to be smudge, scratch, water and fade resistant when Epson photo papers are used.
Claimed battery life is 100 black and white pages or 50 in colour. Recharge time is 2.5 hours with the AC adaptor (the 'quick charge' or a 1.5A USB source, or 10 hours on a regular 0.5A USB.
Epson Australia general manager of consumer sales and marketing Bruce Bealby said "The WorkForce WF-100 boosts the mobile experience, supporting users to stay productive while on the go.
"It is designed for users who demand high document and photo output for business printing and projects, while highlighting our commitment to delivering tools that meet the ever-evolving mobile workforce."
