Enduro iPads case packs slim auxiliary battery

A new iPad case promises up to 75% more use per charge.

Battery life has always been a problem for some users of mobile electronic devices. They're usually designed with a typical use profile in mind, but if you use the device more heavily, or spend a lot of time away from mains power, running out of juice can be a frequent occurrence.

Hence the diverse market for car chargers, solar chargers and auxiliary batteries.

padacs enduro 2

Padacs' latest iPad case, the $59.95 Enduro, contains a "super-slim" (5.5mm) Li-Ion battery pack rated at 6800mAh. This is said to increase the running time of an iPad 2 by 75% and a new iPad by 50%.

The Enduro can also be used to recharge other mobile devices such as smartphones.

The polyurethane case provides clear access to all of the iPad's connectors and controls, and folds to provide multi-angle viewing.

PADACS CEO Raaj Menon said The Enduro "significantly boosts the iPad's battery life without having to carry around charging devices,” said Padacs CEO Raaj Menon. "This is really useful if you fly regularly or forget to charge your iPad overnight."

The Enduro is scheduled to ship in mid-June.
