New UPS from Eaton ‘boosts power protection’

By

Power management company, Eaton, has launched a new range of power protection products designed for workstations, business telephony, routers and point-of-sale equipment which it says provide effective power protection even in disturbed electrical environments, as well as automatically correcting voltage fluctuations.

Eaton says the new 5E UPS product range is made for the Australian and New Zealand markets with country specific outlets, with voltage fluctuations automatically corrected using an AVR device (booster & fader) without requiring the batteries. This directly equates to longer battery service life and lower cost of ongoing maintenance, according to Eaton.

With the launch of the new products, Eaton says ready for use functionality is accentuated by the device’s permanent battery charging even if the UPS is turned at the on/off button, and the 5E can also be used as a portable AC power source due to its cold start feature.

Eaton lists additional key features of its new product range as:

•    A compact form factor which allows the 5E to be easily integrated into environments with space constraints

•    A HID-compliant USB port which provides for automatic integration with common operating systems such as Windows, Mac OS and Linux.  The 5E is also compatible with Eaton UPS Companion power management software

•    650 and 850VA models have no fan and as a result are perfect for deployment at an operator’s workstation where fan noise can be an issue

•    5E is fully compliant & certified to AS/NZS safety and EMC standards.

Eaton has made the 5E available in five models ranging from 650VA/360W too 2000VA/1200W, and priced from $116.00 (RRP), with a one year warranty.
