Apple event announced for 22 October Featured

By

Apple has confirmed what experts have been saying for weeks - a big event is set to be held on 22 October.

Media invitations for the event were sent out today, and feature a strikiing ensemble of colourful leaves against a white background with the tagline, “We still have a lot to cover.”

While Apple could be unveiling a new lineup of iPad covers, a more likely scenario is a new Macbook range as we suggested yesterday, alongside a new retina iPad mini and a refreshed full-size iPad.

The company unveiled the current line of iPads back in October last year, meaning it would make sense for two new tablets to also debut at a similar event this time around.

The launch event will begin at 10am PT (4am on Wednesday AEDT) at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, where Apple has launched several other products including the iPhone 5 in September 2012, and six months earlier, the third-generation iPad.

Some experts are also predicting an announcement that OS X Mavericks will go on sale shortly, perhaps on 23 October.

Whatever the case, check in with iTWire on 23 October for full coverage and analysis.
