FULL VIDEOS: 2018 NEWi Awards announced, recognising top regional tech talent in Australia

By

Australia's regional areas don't get the recognition enjoyed by major capital cities, but it turns out they are hotbeds of terrific tech talent genuinely able to take on the world, and win.

If you want to see a curated list of top talent, awards events are a very important way to shine a bright light on the best and brightest any industry has to offer, while illuminating investment opportunities, quality companies to work or partner with, or even work for, and even great ideas worth being inspired by.

An organisation that has been recognising tech talent in Australia's regional areas over nearly the last decade has been awesomely named "The Lunaticks Society", an "incorporated association dedicated to promoting digital innovation and new ideas in regional Australia" that not only produces an excellent tech TV program you can watch online here, but is also responsible for the NEWi Awards for Digital Creativity

The NEWi Awards program is for "digital entrepreneurs and creatives in regional Australia and reflects the appreciation of how emerging industries are fostering economic growth and employment".

The awards are open to individuals, companies, non-profit organisations and governments involved in designing, building, managing, maintaining or promoting digital solutions in regional Australia - and the 2018 winners have been announced, which you can read about and see in the videos below.

Fifteen award winners were chosen from more than 100 entries across 13 digital and creative categories and 2 merit awards, reflecting the fantastic and outstanding talent in regional Australia.
