Samsung has updated its popular Fit Band to a seriously smart health tracker — Gear Fit2  and added equally smart IconX wireless buds that go further than most in the quest for functional wearables.

Comment

I used the original Gear Fit Band, and later my wife grabbed it – it was elegant and small, but limited to what an accelerometer and heart rate monitor could do. The Fit 2 may share the Fit’s band style, but it’s a very serious upgrade with GPS, continuous heart-rate monitor and more. It is also larger and IP68 certified.

It would be a mistake to call the IconX buds. With 4GB of storage and a lot of inbuilt smarts including Accelerometer and heart rate, it is possibly the first to cut the ties binding it to a smartphone.

Both look innovative and useful – I am sure iTWire will review them soon.
