Myriota says the toolkit was extensively tested over the last six months by members of its early access partner program across Australia, Europe and the US, including by Australia’s first smart waste management platform, Smartsensor.
Myriota co-founder and chief technology officer Dr David Haley said the toolkits provide a complete, mature platform for the rapid development of satellite IoT solutions, from smaller developers to multinational businesses alike.
“We’re excited to be putting the power of IoT into the hands of those able to apply it most effectively - the developer community,” Haley said.
The developer toolkit costs A$849 per unit and can be purchased via the Myriota website.
At this stage, Myriota says the toolkits can only be purchased in Australia, but there are plans to expand this rollout to other locations in the future.
With 275 million tonnes of plastic waste being generated globally, including 31.9 million tonnes of mismanaged plastic coastal waste, Myriota says Smartsensor is using the toolkit to create a world without waste.

Water Group, a provider of smart metering solutions for the water and gas industry, also participated in the early access program, with Smart Metering & IoT manager Rian Sullings saying the deployed units were already having an impact.
