TransACT opens new data centre

By
Canberra-based regional ISP TransACT has opened its third data centre.

TransACT's latest data centre provides 1000 square metres of usable floor space and connectivity to all the major carriers and backhaul providers including Telstra, TransACT, Optus, AAPT, Nextgen and the ICON network.

The centre was officially opened today by ACT Chief Minister Jon Stanhope and TransACT CEO Ivan Slavich.

"This significant increase to TransACT's data centre hosting capacity ensures customers get the best of both worlds when they choose to host their critical business systems with TransACT, as well as bundling hosting with our high-speed IP network," said Slavich.

"Customers that use TransACT's data centre hosting facilities not only get a provider that manages its own network infrastructure and has a high level of availability, they also get their business systems hosted securely and remotely in a carrier-grade environment," he added.

The centre was designed to meet the Secure Area standard as specified in the Australian Government Protective Security Manual, and features high level security and access systems.
