European auction features early PCs and other IT equipment

A forthcoming online auction may be of interest to collectors of early IT equipment.

Germany-based Auction Team Breker's upcoming sale of mechanical music, antique toys and technology includes items that may tempt collectors with deep pockets, and make other people wish they had held onto that old gear!

Those who specialise in early personal computers could be tempted by a MITS Altair 8800 (lot 17, starting price €1,800, pictured above), a NeXT Cube (lot 19, €1,400) or an Apple Lisa-1 (lot 20, a hefty €12,000, pictured below).

Other items in the sale include automata, fine tin toys, musical boxes, gramophones, and quadrants and other instruments.

You'll find the catalogue here, but note that the expected prices are generally well above the starting prices mentioned above.
