ClubTelco joins the NBN retail offerings club


Eftel (ASX: EFT) has released details of the NBN based services to be offered under its consumer brand, ClubTelco.

All plans will be available month-by month-with no setup fees and will include a four port WiFi router at no additional charge. However all customers must pay a $50 annual membership fee.

ClubTelco is offering services at all four bandwidths, (12/1, 25/5. 50/20 and 100/40Mbps at prices that start at $35 per month for 10GB at 12/1Mbps and rise to $140 for 100/40bps with 1TB.

VoIP telephony services are offered under three additional options: $10, $15 and $25 per month. For $10, local calls are 10 cents, calls to mobiles 25 cents per minute and long distance 25 cents per call. For $15 local calls are unlimited and for $25, in addition the first 500 minutes of calls to mobiles are at no charge.

In comparison iiNet's prices range from $49.95 per month for a 12/1Mbps service with 40GB ($50 for 50GB from ClubTelco) for a 100/40 service with 1TB. However its plans are on two year contract and data quotas are split 50/50 between peak and off-peak times.

Primus offers both stand alone and 24 month contract NBN plans. Its standalone offers start at $49.95 for a 25/5 service with 15GB (5 peak, 10 off-peak) - for which there is no ClubTelco equivalent. At the bottom end, the nearest match is the Primus 25/5Mbps service with 40GB fro $59.95 compared to the ClubTelco 25/5Mbps offering with 50GB for $55. Primus prices rise to $139.95 for 300GB (80/220) at 100/40Mbps. This price gets a 1TB from ClubTelco.
