Amazon's first-ever Aussie Prime Day deals down under doing good so far

With Amazon's Prime Day deals well underway, prompting competitive moves from the likes of eBay and Kogan, Amazon's Aussie country manager has shared some thoughts.

Interested in some top stats from Amazon's first ever Australian Prime Day thus far?

The company's country manager for Australia, Rocco Braeuniger, said: "We have been humbled by the response from Prime members to Prime Day in Australia, with demand exceeding our expectations, and sales surpassing Boxing Day on the first day.

"Members across the country have snapped up the thousands of deals during the shopping event reserved exclusively for Prime members – and it’s not over."

Braeuniger continued: "Prime Day deals continue until midnight on 17 July across all 23 categories, from toys and gaming consoles, to fashion and books, with deep discounts continuing throughout the day.

"This is in addition to the great range of other shopping and entertainment benefits we’re excited to bring to Prime members in Australia.”

So, what have been some of the top sellers?

We're told "top sellers so far include Echo devices, Huggies Nappies, PS4 Pro 1TB Console with Bonus Fortnite Content, Bose QuietComfort Noise Cancelling Wireless Headphones and Kindle Paperwhite".

In addition, the "Nintendo Switch was snapped up by customers in under a minute yesterday. Responding to the overwhelming customer demand, a new Nintendo Switch Lightning Deal will go live later today, allowing more members to access the great deal".

Now, if you're not a member of Amazon Prime, you'll notice that the links below show higher prices than those quoted below.

That's because you need to be a member of Amazon Prime to claim them, something that is possible on a trial basis if you want to give it a go before committing - and why the event is called the Prime Day event, being just one of the many benefits of being a Prime subscriber.

So, here are some deals that would have gone live and will go live throughout the day (17 July, if you're reading later, this is what you missed out on):
