Corporate President and CEO Jason Chen said, “Acer has always put the latest technology into user’s hands at every price point. As a technology company, we believe in innovation. Acer and Windows 10 is the humanization of technology.”
He said that its product portfolio would cover from 1” to 100” screens and eventually more than 100 models. “We have even more products to announce. We are the Number One Windows based PC maker in Europe and Asia,” he said.
Acer worked for more than 18 months to prefect its Windows 10 offerings. Terry Myerson, Microsoft Executive President Windows and Devices took the stage.
“Windows 10 is off to the fastest start ever - thanks to Acers help. Already 10% of Windows PCs in Taiwan have upgraded to Windows 10. We have seen a 53% increase in brand preference for Windows. Windows 10 is familiar (reference to Windows 7/8), secure – including the online world, more personal and productive experiences with Cortana and uses innovative devices,” he added.
Acer’s President of its Smartphone Business ST Liew said Acer wanted to connect everything from a 1” screen to a 100” screen.
Acer will do Windows 10 Mobile devices – under the Liquid Jade Primo brand. “We can put more computing power into our user’s hands [over Android]. It uses the best components – super AMOLED, best processors, wireless keyboard, mouse, dock etc.,” he said.
He demonstrated Continuum over Wi-Fi without a dock – nice – it appears to use Wi-Fi MU-MIMO (Multi-User Multiple Input and Multiple Output) – again very nice. “You don’t have to travel with a smartphone and a computer anymore,” he added.
The launch highlighted new models with Windows Hello, Skype for Business certification, MU-MIMO, precision touch pads and more.

I have followed Acers ups and downs now since the mid-80s. In April 2014 I had the pleasure to inspect Acer’s Australian HQ and wrote about the Australian-ization of the brand. Its still a good background read here.
Acer is a good global brand and deserves to succeed as a top Microsoft OEM partner.
