Home Home Tech NTFS for Mac Mojave Preview and APFS for Windows Preview editions launched free

For those running macOS Mojave beta like myself, the announcement of NTFS for Mojave as a free download is very welcome, as is the ability to let Windows read Mac-formatted APFS drives.

Paragon Software Group. This respected, long-standing company has created brilliant utility software for PCs, Macs, Linux and Android devices for many, many years, and continues this tradition to this very day as paragons of utility software development and consumer, business and enterprise availability.

The company has been busy this year updating various aspects of its software suite, with the two most recent articles at iTWire covering Paragon's latest developments.

Those articles are "Paragon launches free APFS to HFS+ converter for Macs" and "Paragon releases 'Backup & Recovery Free' for Windows PCs".

Now comes the latest from Paragon Software Group: two Mojave-optimised drivers – NTFS for Mac and APFS for Windows, for early adapters working on Mac and Windows systems.

Both tools are available for free download (while they are in preview mode) here

So, what's a bit of extra detail on both programs?

NTFS for Mac by Paragon Software Mojave Preview edition.

We're told this is "a high-performance tool that enables you to write, copy, edit, move or delete files on Microsoft NTFS-formatted drives from your Mac.

The tool is fully compatible with Mojave Preview and is available for free download here.

Its key features are as follows:

  • Mount, unmount, verify, format or set any of Microsoft NTFS volumes as a start-up drive;
  • Mount in Read-Only if you need to access sensitive data without modifying any files;
  • “Do not mount automatically” option for when you want to manually control volumes access;
  • Quickly restart your Mac in Windows from the menu bar; and
  • Intuitive and Apple-user friendly utility interface.

APFS for Windows by Paragon Software Preview edition.

This is "a driver which enables Windows users to access Apple File System (APFS) volumes on PCs, now with full support on Fusion Drives in macOS Mojave Preview.

"The revamped APFS for Windows comes with support for encrypted volumes and APFS Containers composed of multiple partitions", and can be downloaded free here.

Its key features are as follows:

  • Fail-safe operability across compatible hardware and software;
  • Protection of data integrity and prevention of data loss;
  • Effective flow control, reduced overheads, congestion avoidance;
  • Thrifty usage of processor, memory, and disk resources.

So, there you have it. Paragon Software Group is taking care of business for Mac and Windows users with must-have interoperability and compatibility apps, this is a fine company to give your business to if you work in Mac and PC environments and need the benefits these programs deliver.
