VIDEOS: Claimed 'world-first' Aussie-invented cordless portable espresso machine now available

Would much of the modern world as we know it exist without the wonders of coffee? Whatever your views on that, a new Aussie invention takes Nespresso capsules or your own reusable-capsuled coffee blend and makes the perfect portable hot espresso a reality.

Aptly named NowPresso, the invention is an "easy-to-use, one button, portable coffee machine," not only able to take Nespresso capsules, but also a coffee aficionado’s personal coffee blend using the "SealPod" stainless steel reusable capsules.

The NwoPresso site also states that "NowPresso Portable Espresso Machine can only be used with genuine original NespressoCapsules, L'OR Espresso Aluminium Capsules and SealPod reusable stainless steel capsules for your espresso grind."

As you can imagine, this allows you to to make a coffee with what NowPresso's makers say is "the perfect crème in a matter of minutes".

Shaped as a petite thermoflask, NowPresso is light weight at under 900 grams, and can take either boiling water, or cold water, which it boils to create a delicious short black.

Want an iced coffee instead? Simple - NowPresso can also "create delicious ice coffees using iced water," too.

So, who are the creative Aussies behind this innovatively caffeinated invention?

Well, that would be dynamic Australian father and daughter duo, John and Madeleine Rochecouste, whose lithium battery-powered portable espresso machine lets you make your favourite coffee beverage, anytime, anywhere.

We're told that John Rochecouste’s "tireless commitment in designing and building the ultimate and most user-friendly coffee machine led the Aussie inventor to work with 12 separate factories in Asia to create the unique components needed to make up NowPresso."

The result is NowPresso, the "smart and convenient coffee making machine which can fit easily fit in your back pack or carry-on bag on a flight."

Now, Despite a number of portable coffee machines available on the market where an electrical power point is needed, the beauty and ingenuity of NowPresso "lies in the rechargeable and removable lithium battery which is able to produce perfect espressos in any busy or remote location".

According to John Rochecouste, in the space of only a few months, the overseas demand for NowPresso has been very positive and he said: “Through our successful crowd-funding efforts on Kickstarter and Indiegogo, NowPresso has become the most successful portable espresso machines to be launched on these platforms.

"We have thousands of NowPresso in the pipeline for the US, Asia and Australian market.

“Madeleine and I are confident that NowPresso will be ‘a must-have’ item for coffee lovers around the world including people who often travel for business or pleasure, go camping or simply don’t have time or cannot find a decent coffee.

“With NowPresso, we are hoping to redefine how we source, create and enjoy our coffee and that we don’t have to put up with mediocre coffees where ever we are around the world."

NowPresso retails for US $199, with a nifty stand able to also hold coffee pods available separately for US $44, with free shipping to selected countries including Australia.

Here are three videos, the first being the promotional video, the second being the company's own unboxing video showing you how it works and the simple steps you need to take when opening up your own NowPresso package for the very first time, and the third on how to use the SealPod capsules. RECOVERING FROM RANSOMWARE

Ransomware is a type of malware that blocks access to your files and systems until you pay a ransom.

The first example of ransomware happened on September 5, 2013, when Cryptolocker was unleashed.

It quickly affected many systems with hackers requiring users to pay money for the decryption keys.

Find out how one company used backup and cloud storage software to protect their company’s PCs and recovered all of their systems after a ransomware strike.
