Vodafone Hutchison Australia and TPG Telecom have taken action in the Federal Court, seeking orders that the proposed merger between the two companies will not have the effect, or likely effect, of substantially lessening competition.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has blamed "a flaw in its website content management system" for publishing information about the proposed merger between TPG Telecom and Vodafone Hutchison Australia a day before it was supposed to be made public.
Australia's biggest telecommunications provider Telstra says it has no comment on the decision by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission to oppose the proposed merger of TPG Telecom and Vodafone Hutchison Australia.
