Mobile video plays topped 60% globally for the first time in the fourth quarter of 2017 – garnering a 60.3% share of all video starts, according to new research published by Telstra subsidiary and video software and services vendor Ooyala.

Telstra is preparing to write down by $273 million the value of Ooyala, its US-based intelligent video business, to zero. The telco announced the writedown following what it says were substantial efforts over the past 18 months to improve the business performance.

Cath joins Ooyala as VP of services for APJ
