Australia’s three biggest telcos — Telstra, Optus and Vodafone — have been given formal warnings by the telecoms regulator for failing to provide information about products and services that may suit the needs of consumers with a disability.

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has completed 38 investigations and issued enforcement notices against 31 telcos for non compliance with new rules designed to help consumers moving to the National Broadband Network.

Broadcast giant Foxtel has been caught in a crackdown on compliance with telemarketing laws and fined $25,200 for breaching requirements for telemarketers to end a call immediately when asked.
