Smartphone maker Samsung says it intends to defend the allegations made by the competition regulator, the ACCC, that it published misleading advertisements about its Galaxy-branded water resistant smartphones. 

Samsung has been taken to court by the competition regulator, the ACCC, over allegations it made false, misleading and deceptive representations in advertising the water resistance of various Galaxy-branded mobile phones.

The US Justice Department is considering whether to investigate Google for alleged anti-trust violations, a report in The New York Times claims.
