CSIRO maps grain paddocks from space

Scientists at CSIRO, Australia's national science agency, have solved a farming challenge using artificial intelligence to identify the boundary of every individual paddock in Australia's grain growing region from space – around 1.7 million of them.

CSIRO’s innovation network Data61 is partnering with US-based non-profit geospatial and imagery technology platform Radiant.Earth to develop joint research into satellite imagery and earth observation data for disaster resilience in human disaster management, health, climate change and sustainable water management.

Geoimage and Intermap cement reseller agreement

Privately owned Australian satellite imagery company, Geoimage, has secured an agreement with US-based 3D terrain information provider, Intermap Technologies, to distribute its NEXTMap digital elevation models and image products in Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and other Pacific countries.
