The first of 17 electric vehicle charging stations earmarked for Central Victoria has been installed in the town of Maryborough.
A company known as Chargefox will be provided with $6 million to help it set up 21 ultra-rapid charging stations for electric vehicles along major driving routes from Brisbane to Adelaide, including around Sydney and Melbourne, and separately in Western Australia.
