Vodafone Australia says it has ‘thrown down the gauntlet’’ to Telstra and Optus by announcing new plans featuring unlimited calls and texts and $5 a day international roaming in the US, UK and NZ.
Vodafone Australia, which has been on the ropes in recent times, has come out fighting with a series of new announcements. The most important is its belated decision to provide 4G services, initially in the five mainland state capitals.
The head of Vodafone Hutchison Australia, Nigel Dews, is to move on to another role in 50 percent shareholder Hutchison Whampoa and been replaced by Bill Morrow.
