Microsoft’s re-entry into smartphone market is a serious attempt to capture the hearts and minds of consumers and corporates. It will do well in the latter but a lack of apps may affect the former.
All the indications point to Microsoft having a very happy Christmas this year. Microsoft’s new Surface Pro 4 and its little brother the Surface 3 have ‘sold out’ in the US pre-Christmas rush - retailers can’t get enough.
Microsoft has a good, better, and best philosophy. The Lumia 550 is the good (lowest cost) and yet punches well above its weight. Sure there are some hardware trade-offs but they are not noticeable.
