Wi-Fi networks will carry almost 60% of smartphone and tablet data traffic by 2019, reaching 115,000 petabytes – a projected four-fold increase compared to under 30,000 PB this year.
Mobile data traffic equivalent to over 10 billion Blu-ray movies will be generated by smartphones, featurephones and tablets over the next four years, but the majority of the traffic won’t be carried over cellular networks.
