Australia’s competition watchdog, the ACCC, says recent developments in the wholesale market for Internet interconnection services will boost competition in the supply of Internet connectivity and hosted services to corporate and government customers.
The Australian Communications Consumer Action Network, the peak body representing telecommunications users, has welcomed the announcement made by ACMA that an inquiry into outages of the triple zero service would lead to tightening of protections for consumers.
Businesses need to embrace interconnection and maximise their networking capabilities to compete in today’s digital economy, according to data centre company Equinix’s Australia managing director Jeremy Deutsch.
