Nine days ago, the Victorian Government announced that it would be providing $200,000 for a program to help Microsoft train more people in the use of its software. It came, ironically, just a day after regional Victorian hospitals were hit by ransomware – something that, by far, only attacks Microsoft's Windows operating system.

Passengers on the Spirit of Tasmania ferry service between Devonport and Melbourne now have access to high-speed Internet, with a partnership by the ferry operators with Australian satellite internet provider, IPSTAR Broadband.

Microsoft Australia is extending its traineeship program to Victoria in partnership with the Victorian Government and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT).
