Global payments giant Visa has launched a campaign aimed at educating Australians about the convenience and security of mobile payments.
Commuters in Sydney will now be able to use their credit cards or mobile phones to tap on and off on metro train services, instead of using their Opal cards, after the contactless payments trial run by Transport for NSW and the Commonwealth Bank, Cubic and Mastercard was extended.
India's domestic payments networks are gaining ground over US companies Mastercard and Visa, a few months after the two American firms complained to their government that the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was pushing a local rival.
