Huawei Australia chief technology officer Dr David Soldani has warned that the latest sanctions on Huawei by the US Federal Government could break-up the unified global mobile technology standards that currently allow Australian tourists and business travellers to use their mobile devices anywhere in the world – and for global visitors to use their mobile devices when in Australia.
Chinese telecommunications equipment vendor Huawei Technologies has filed a motion for summary judgment in its case against the US Government in which it has challenged the constitutionality of Section 889 of the 2019 National Defence Authorisation Act. The motion will be heard on 19 September.
The American Government has ramped up its campaign against Chinese telecommunications equipment maker Huawei Technologies, briefing officials in so-called "friendly countries" to try and get them to stop using equipment from the Chinese vendor.
