Apple counting on fear and greed to sell new products

Given that Apple has decided to hike the prices of its iPhones — which were announced overnight — it would be reasonable to assume that the company is gearing up for the trade spat between China and the US to intensify.

A member of Google's Project Zero security team has asked Apple chief executive Tim Cook to change the company's culture as far as iOS security goes, saying Apple merely fixes bugs and does not try to remove the systemic roots that lead to such vulnerabilities.

Apple first to pass US$1 trillion market cap

Apple has become the first publicly listed American company to achieve a US$1 trillion value, with the firm achieving the milestone when its shares hit US$207.04 at about noon on Thursday.
