USA will not return to the Moon in 2020

The USA's 2011 budget will abandon the Ares heavy-lift launcher and extend the life of the ISS; this means we won't be back to the moon any time soon

Published in Space
NASA will begin its 2010 launch schedule on February 7th with the liftoff of STS-130 and the space shuttle Endeavour astronauts. The last mission is scheduled for September. Don't expect any more flight even with uncertainty still facing the U.S. manned space program.

The space shuttle Endeavour is being prepared for its next-to-last mission into space. Only four other NASA missions of its Space Shuttle fleet remain in the Space Transportation System (STS) program—which is scheduled to end in September 2010.
