NASA tests escape system for Orion capsule

In a successful test for the escape system of the Orion space capsule, NASA shows that it works perfectly for the now defunct Constellation program. However, Orion may never get off the ground in that capacity.

STS-131 landing waved off

It has just been announced, as of approximately 9:15 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time on April 19, 2010, that the STS-131 mission will be forced to stay up in space for one more day due to bad weather.

Space shuttle Discovery and its seven-member NASA crew are expected to land back on Earth on Monday, April 19, after a 14-day mission to the International Space Station. Their voyage home is not expected to be delayed due to the volcanic dust in the air, only by likely rainy weather.
