Online shoppers have been warned by the competition watchdog to be wary of scammers masquerading as legitimate online retailers selling well-known brands at “too-good-to-be-true prices”.
Scammers have fleeced more than $27,000 from unsuspecting Australians this year, targeting many with bogus calls, supposedly from the Department of Human Services or Centrelink, targeting pensions and unemployment benefits.
