Newsweek poll: Religious in America

The magazine Newsweek conducted a poll about religious views of people in the United States. Its title "A Post-Christian Nation?" raises some interesting thoughts on religious views, and their trends over time.

Danish researchers wanted to find out if religious people think they are really talking to a real entity ('God') or a fictitious one ('Santa Claus'). MRI scans to the prefrontal cortex in the brain were the key to their conclusion.

A study based out of Boston, Massachusetts in the United States found that terminally ill patients were three times more likely to receive life-prolonging medical procedures during the last week of their lives if they were “positively” religious and spiritual as opposed to being “negatively” religious/spiritual.
