Pipe Networks to upgrade Sydney Guam cable to 100Gbps

TPG subsidiary, Pipe Networks, is to upgrade its PPC-1 Sydney-Guam submarine cable to 100gbps per wavelength operation using Infinera's DTN-X platform, increasing capacity on the cable to more than 3Tbps.

TPG boosts half year profits by 65 percent

TPG Telecom (ASX: TPM) has reported a 65 percent increase in NPAT for the half year ended 31 January 2012 to $55.7m, and a 17 percent increase in EBITDA to $131.9m on revenues of $324.5m, up 17 percent.

TPG boosts profits and EBITDA

For the year to 30 June 2011 TPG Telecom (ASX: TPM) has reported a 40 percent increase in net profit after tax to $78.2m and a 37 percent increase in EBITDA to $234.0m on revenues that were up 13 percent to $574.5m.

900 Sanctuary Cove homes get FTTH services

SP Telemedia to pay $373m in cash for Pipe Networks

Soul/TPG trying to buy Pipe Networks?

Speculation is running high that SP Telemedia (Soul/TPG, ASX: SOT) is about to make a takeover offer for Pipe Networks (ASX: PWK). Both companies requested trading halts within minutes of each other on Wednesday 4 November and then requested suspension of their shares almost simultaneously on Friday 6 November.

NBN: Pipe presses Feds for better facilities access

Even as Pipe Networks partied in Sydney Thursday night to celebrate the launch of its PPC-1 trans-Pacific cable, the company was pressing Government for changes to proposed legislation to give it better access to interconnect facilities.
