More than 2.5 million Australians have opted against having a record in the My Health Record digital system, the Australian Digital Health System says in figures released on Wednesday.
Faced with growing privacy concerns, the Federal Government has backed down over its controversial My Health Record system and said it would change the laws governing release of data.
Australia's Digital Health Agency, the body that manages the My Health Record system, is making a bid to change the licensing of data to mobile phone apps, with an option to cancel any agreement if the app firms damage the reputation of the system.
