NewSat hit with takeover offer

Satellite services provider NewSat (ASX: NWT) has been hit with a takeover offer from EWC Payments, a company founded and run by Matthew Starr, who was involved with NewSat in 2003 but split over disagreements with NewSat founder Adrian Ballintine over the direction the company should take.

Big changes at NewSat

Satellite service provider NewSat (ASX: NWT) has announced several "significant initiatives" including the resignation of founder and CEO, Adrian Ballintine, a shake-up of its board and the appointment of Lazard as strategic adviser on, amongst other things its plans to launch its own satellite.

NewSat finances improve, but survival questioned

Satellite service provider, NewSat (ASX: NWT) has reported "much improved" performance for the six months to 31st December 2008, but its auditors have questioned its ability to continue as a going concern.
