Australian national broadband network builder NBN Co has denied that it has any plans to introduce a "Netflix tax" and charge increased rates for customers who stream videos.
Users of the paid versions of Skype or those who purchase Skype credit will be required to pay the 10% Australian goods and services tax from 1 August.
The federal government’s new tax — dubbed the "Netflix Tax" — on imported digital products and services comes into effect next Saturday, 1 July, pushing the price of goods and services up by 10%.
