Toshiba Australia has issued a statement aimed at dissipating public fears over reports of a recall of 340,000 notebook batteries by the laptop computer manufacturer worldwide, saying the recall had nothing to do with safety issues.

Dopod debuts 850MHz 3G Windows Mobile PDA

Singapore-based PDA supplier Dopod International has entered the Australian market with the launch of  two 3G HSDPA capable, Microsoft Windows based PDAs, one of which is the first device on the market that will operate on Telstra's new 850MHz network, but the first carriers to offer the device will be Hutchison and Optus.

UK research firm, Analysys, predicts that more revenue will be earned from VoIP traffic originating from cellphones than from fixed lines phones in the US and Europe by 2012, in part because cellular VoIP services will be positioned as premium services.
