Human services minister Alan Tudge is playing down a report that the Medicare details of Australians are being sold on a site on the dark web.
The activist group GetUp has slammed the federal government over its threat to an elderly man who runs a website called Save Medicare where he publishes information about government changes to healthcare services and launched a petiton asking Canberra to back off.
Although the NBN’s privatisation is years or decades off yet, the deliverer of tele-health that will connect doctors to patients electronically will one day, unlike Medicare, be sold off.
