While the flaw in the WPA2 protocol reported overnight compromises wireless networks, point-to-point encryption between devices and websites or applications should still be secure, a senior technology professional says.
American security vendor McAfee appears to be trying to capitalise on the ban imposed by the US on Kaspersky Lab, touting this on its website in a bid to promote its own software.
McAfee Lab’s Q1, 2017, 83-page Threat Report shows mobile malware grew 57% and MacOS malware grew 53% which is particularly significant in Australia which has a higher proportion of Mac users. There were 244 new threats every minute.
