Amazon plans to enter the Australian Protected cloud market, but it really can't be bothered to offer the same service as it does to the American Government, it would appear.
ASD-certified Protected cloud provider Vault Systems has lost its role as cloud host of the Govpass ID system, with the government's Digital Transformation Agency deciding instead that the Australian Taxation Office and the Department of Human Services would assume responsibility for hosting the components of the digital identity system.
Microsoft's certification as a Protected provider of its Azure Cloud and Office 365 services to the Australian Government has literally come under a cloud, with the Australian Signals Directorate issuing a consumer guide containing a number of fiats about the service.
