OPINION It is that time of year when I reflect on what excited me most about devices I reviewed during the year. I reviewed smartphones from $99 to $1799. Some were remarkable.
Google’s new 5” Pixel and the 5.5” XL are good smartphones, verging on great, but their strongest attraction - Pure Android - needs some work. Its user interface (UI) is nowhere near as polished, intuitive or useful as Samsung, LG, Moto, Sony et al.
The British consumer group Which? has found that the iPhone 7 battery is the worst among recent big-brand smartphones, after the group compared it with the Samsung Galaxy S7, the HTC 10 and the LG G5.
