One hundred and eighty South Australian Government IT workers will lose their jobs after the state government announced today that all its IT functions would be outsourced to the American multinational firm Computer Sciences Corporation.
The South Australian government is investing $4.65 million in establishing what it says is an ultra-fast Internet, offering businesses in Adelaide speeds up to 100 times the national average. The government expects the investment will help to attract high-tech global companies to set up in the city, while also creating jobs.
