Apple iTV provides missing link to the armchair

Forget your new iPods, forget even the elegant new iTunes movie downloads service, for my money the big announcement of the day has to be Apple's iTV device. For US$299, Apple has come up with something that has been sorely needed for some time a seamless link from the home computer to the TV set.

Windows Live Search goes live

Microsoft has officially lifted the covers off its Live Search competitor to Google, announcing that the software company is taking its new search product out of beta. However, a quick visit to the www.live.com page will show a site similar to Google's but still with the red Beta tag appended.

Apple goes digital TV, Disney downloads and new iPods

Apple came out with guns blazing at its showtime event today, unveiling a US$299 set top box that will wirelessly stream downloaded movies and music to living room TVs, new Walt Disney movie downloads for US$12.99 and new iPod models, including an 80GB video iPod.
