ICM Registry, the US-based internet company that for six years had planned to register a .xxx domain for "adult" content has filed a Freedom of Information demand against the US Department of Commerce. ICM claims the US Government agency exerted political influence to have the creation of the domain quashed.

Men surf web at work; women infect PCs

A new survey has found that men surf the web more at work, while women are more likely to infect PCs with spyware and infect the net.

While a new study from Reporters Without Frontiers moans about oppressive regimes around the world censoring freedom of speech online, there is a growing movement among the more conservative elements in the US Government to censor the Web in the land of the free.
