Vodafone Hutchison Australia has announced that it would team up with Finnish telecommunications giant Nokia to build its 5G network in the country, with the announcement coming well ahead of a court decision on a challenge against a bid to block its merger with TPG Telecom.
Vodafone Hutchison Australia and TPG Telecom have said they intend to challenge the ACCC's turning down of their merger proposal in the Federal Court.
Both TPG Telecom and Vodafone Hutchison Australia will make sufficient concessions to the ACCC that would see TPG remaining in the market as a price-fighter brand, well-known telecommunications analyst Paul Budde says, three days ahead of the date on which a final decision on the proposed merger between the two companies is due to be handed down.
