Australia’s I CT sector is on the verge of a mini jobs boom over the next six years, but the predicted demand for IT professionals is tempered by a continuing and worrying decline in the number of graduates with ICT qualifications.
Google heads three technology companies in Australia in the top 10 list of most in demand employers, according to a new survey from professional network LinkedIn. Mining and resources are also hot workplace destinations but there is no telco in sight.
Hiring intentions are at their highest level since 2012, with 17.1% of employers looking to increase permanent staffing levels between April and June this year, and with the ICT market leading the way with contract hiring.
