Some were sceptical when Steve Jobs said the iPhone 3G would be sold around the world for $US199, but if you allow a little poetic licence it seems to be coming true. At least, that happens to be the case in Japan.

An unauthorised Apple iPhone reseller has promised to deliver unlocked iPhone 3G handsets from a Hong Kong supplier selling for $775 and $875 in the week following the release of the long awaited Apple product in Australia on July 11. The reseller, based in Melbourne, claims to have already sold several hundred original iPhones to Australian customers.

France gets set to get tough on Internet pirates as President Sarkozy tells his cabinet there is no reason why it should be a lawless zone. The HADOPI bill, if made law, will see persistent offenders being banned by all French ISPs.
